Al Hostak Passes Away

Former Middleweight Champion Al Hostak has died from complications because of a stroke at the age of 90. Hostak Sunday at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Washington. Hostak became the Middleweight Champion in 1938, knocking out Freddie Steele in less than two minutes in the first round. He was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 1997.
