New Date Set for Miranda-Abraham

HOLLYWOOD, FL – A new date has been set for the IBF Middleweight World Title fight between Edison Miranda and Arthur Abraham for September 23, 2006 at the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar, Germany.

The fight, which was originally scheduled for this Saturday, August 26th at the EWE-Arena in Oldenburg, Germany, was postponed when Abraham suddenly developed the Flu.

“We are extremely excited that the fight has been rescheduled,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. “We are looking forward to bringing the IBF Middleweight World Title belt home where it belongs and we hope that Abraham doesn’t catch cold feet again.”

“I can’t wait to get in the ring with him and give him a taste of my power,” said Edison Miranda.  “If he thinks he was sick for the first fight just wait until September 23rd, I will be ready and I hope he will be to.”

Abraham Pulls Out of Title Fight With Miranda

HOLLYWOOD, FL – Team Pantera, ready to celebrate the crowning of a new middleweight king, Edison Miranda, Saturday at the EWE-Arena in Oldenburg, Germany, will have to wait just a little while longer, as it was announced that IBF Middleweight Champion Arthur Abraham has withdrawn from this weekend’s bout, citing illness.

“I’m disappointed, but I will take my disappointment out on Abraham when he’s well enough to step into the ring with me,” said Miranda, 26-0 with 23 KOs.  “I know in my heart that he has cold feet and I won’t be denied of this World Championship.  This is my time to shine!”

“This is just prolonging the inevitable,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing, Miranda’s promotional company.  “Edison was ready to go for this fight, and he’ll be ready to go for whatever date that the fight is rescheduled on.  I anticipate that the fight will be rescheduled for late September and he will return home with Abraham’s world title belt.”
