NY Court Rules in Favor of Cauthen
Bronx, NY - Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing announced today that the New York Supreme Court agreed with Star Boxing, Team Cauthen and the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) over the “no decision” ruling that reversed the original hotly contested controversial decision after the USBA Jr. Middleweight Title and #2 IBF ranking fight, between Raul Frank (27-5-3 13KO’s) and Terrance Cauthen (32-3 9KO’s).
The fight, which took place on January 25, 2007 at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, was seemingly headed to a certain Cauthen win when referee Ricky Gonzales stopped the fight 2:59 minutes into the seventh round after Cauthen was knocked down and out by a massive head butt. Unfortunately, the referee didn’t see the cause of the knockdown, and ruled it a TKO for Frank. This was the beginning of a vigorously contested battle outside the ring, going from the NYSAC to the NY State Supreme Court as both fighters battled for the victory ruling.

Former world champions and current top-rated contenders Vernon Forrest and Carlos Baldomir collide for the World Boxing Council interim super welterweight title, Saturday, July 28. “With 81 victories between them, these two warriors know a little something about winning,” said Gary Shaw. “Not only have they been world champions, they became world champions by beating the best in their divisions to win those titles. They are two of the most competitive fighters I have had the privilege to work with. The fans at the Emerald Queen Casino and the viewers watching on HBO are in for a terrific night. It’s now or never for Vernon and Carlos and that’s exactly how they are going to fight each other on July 28.”

Cauthen-Frank Declared No-Decision
The New York State Athletic Commission overruled Raul Frank’s 7th round TKO win over Terrance “Heat” Cauthen today by declaring the fight a no-decision. The bout took place last Thursday January 25th, at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx.
After a meeting with representatives of Team Cauthen, Team Frank and Star Boxing CEO Joe DeGuardia regarding the bout, the NYSAC ruled that the bout ended as a result of an unintentional headbutt, and not a punch.
