Musical Opponents
David Tua was originally supposed to fight Kelvin Davis this Friday night, remember that?
The contract was never really able to be worked out to please both sides and Davis eventually backed out of the contest…
When it seemed like Tua wouldn’t be able to find an opponent, in comes Ross Puritty to the rescue. Puritty is a scrappy Australian, who owns a win over Wladimir Klitschko and would certainly be a tough match for Tua.
Guess what? Puritty won’t be available either. According to Cedric Kushner, Puritty suffered a large gash on his forehead during a recent training session and is not cleared to fight.
What is Tua going to do? He’s going to fight Abraham Okine, that’s what.

Tua Finds Last Minute Opponent
Last week it seemed that former heavyweight champion David Tua’s return to the ring had been spoiled by Kelvin Davis pulling out of talks that were setting up a potential fight between the two for next month.
However, Tua is going to fight on November 3rd after all, against New Zeland’s Ross Puritty at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.
Interesting note of the day: Puritty actually defeated IBF Heavyweight title holder Wladimir Klitschko in 1998, stopping him in the 11th round.
