Here is the official statement from Superfighter Founder, Stephen Duval:
It is with great regret that I announce the postponement of the Superfighter Pay-Per-View event scheduled for December 2nd in Melbourne and December 1st in the USA. The team will continue working until the inaugural Superfighter event is staged, with our intention to hold the tournament in the United States in early 2007.
When we launched the event on October 17 in Melbourne, the Superfighter team was confident all elements were secured to run a successful inaugural tournament.
However; recent withdrawals coupled with the unexpected challenges for fighters’ securing the proper clearances to enter Australia in time to train and acclimate themselves led Superfighter to the conclusion that the final December 2 field would not be of an appropriate calibre.

HOLLYWOOD, FL - With the December 1st event date approaching rapidly, Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions’ undisputed cruiserweight champion O’Neil Bell and former world heavyweight champion Oliver McCall are training feverishly for their opportunity to win five million dollars in the inaugural ‘Superfighter’ tournament at Melbourne, Australia’s Telstra Dome.
For Bell, who will be making his heavyweight debut in the tournament, and McCall, who sees this as the perfect way to get himself back to a world title shot, ‘Superfighter’ is a once in a lifetime shot that couldn’t possibly be turned down.
