Last weekend Showtime aired three fights that ended with three spectacular TKO finishes: Former undisputed light heavyweight Antonio Tarver pummeled Danny Santiago before eventually finishing him in the 4th round; Vernon Forrest put on a clinic until he stopped Michele Piccirillo in the 11th; and Nonito Donaire put Luis Maldonado down for the count with a left hook in the 8th round of their bout.

MASHANTUCKET, CT – Three of boxing’s biggest and most important players notched impressive victories on the final Showtime Championship Boxing telecast of 2007. Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver, Vernon “The Viper” Forrest and “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire each scored TKO victories before an enthusiastic crowd Saturday at the Fox Arena at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Showtime Championship Boxing will present an extraordinary tripleheader as its season finale when IBO light heavyweight champion Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver defends against Danny Santiago, Vernon Forrest risks his WBA 154-pound crown against former IBF welterweight kingpin Michele Piccirillo and Nonito Donaire, fresh off his knockout victory over previously undefeated Vic Darchinyan in the Upset of the year, makes the initial defense of his IBF flyweight belt against mandatory challenger Luis Maldonado.
Promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, LLC, the three scheduled 12-round fights will be televised live from Foxwoods Resort Casino, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast.)
