Hatton to Relinquish Belt

A number of British newspapers are reporting that Ricky Hatton will vacate his WBA welterweight title and move back down to 140 pounds so he can challenge Juan Urango for one of his old titles. Hatton was told that he would be stripped of the title if he didn’t take on mandatory challenger Oktay Urkal in his next bout.

Also, Bob Arum and Hatton’s camp are reportedly still in talks with Jose Luis Castillo officials about a possible Spring 2007 bout.
