Weekend Results - October 8, 2006

Undefeated Tomasz Adamek garnered a split decision victory over Paul Briggs on Saturday night, retaining his WBC Light-Heavyweight title as well. Judges Ken Morita and Ray Hawkins scored it 114-112 and 115-111 for Adamek, while Mauro DiFiore had it even at 113.

Kevin McBride’s heavyweight title shot hopes were pretty much thrown down the drain on Saturday night after being stopped by little-known heavyweight Mike Mollo. The fight was on the undercard of Valuev-Barrett.
